Welcome to 8th Grade Band Website!
8th Grade Band is a year long advanced performance class. The 8th grade band students will continue the development of more advanced performance skills and reinforce fundamentals learned in 7th grade. Students will have periodic graded playing tests, as well as required practice records, provided in class. Please continue to refer to this website for periodic updates of upcoming student requirements and performances. A handbook will be provided to students at the beginning of school. Participation at all concerts is required, and a significantly weighted and is an important part of each student's grade.
This year, as a 8th grade student, there are wonderful opportunities to participate in extra-curricular band ensembles and events. These ensembles are tons of fun, and will give you an opportunity to expand and enrich your skills learned in regular band class. These include District Honor Bands, Solo and Ensemble and a trip to Branson to perform at a contest.
